GRACIOUSLY REDEEMED

During sophomore year of high school, I went on an extended shoplifting spree. I stole from department stores, drug stores, hobby stores, you name it. I then got caught stealing pens. PENS! 🤦🏻‍♀️

After dealing with the authorities, my Dad made me go with him to pay for the items I stole. He drove me to each and every store and made me apologize while he paid for whatever I claimed I took.

Want to hear something ridiculous?

Apparently, getting caught wasn’t enough for me. During this repentance run, I asked my Dad for a pair of jeans that caught my eye at Wet Seal. I won’t even get into how livid that made him. Let’s just say that I thought I was going to get disowned right then and there at Tacoma Mall.

My Dad monetarily paid for my mistakes that day, but Jesus ultimately paid for ours so that we can be forever redeemed. My Dad didn’t leave me behind at the mall (whew!), and God will never disown us for our weaknesses either.

He will be patient and show us His perfect Grace, especially when we need it the most. 💛

Psalm 145:8

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
