A relationship with God is just as real as any we have with others in this world, if not more so. Having an authentic relationship with Him is the difference between really knowing Him and just knowing about Him. The difference between following a religion and living Saved.
As with our other relationships, there are times you can feel like not talking to Him, and there are times you may even feel angry at Him. Many honest believers (including myself) have professed to feeling hurt and confused by God at times because of suffering they have been through. It’s normal, and God can handle it.
He MOST DEFINITELY wants to be a part of your life. He does not cause the pain, and He will help you through it all. His promise is that He is always for you and always with you. You can go to Him with problems, questions, good news, ALL OF IT. God is a loving God that wants to hear from you just as you are and how you are. He really is your Best Friend.
To have this true bond with God, you must first accept that He sent Jesus, His Son, to earth to die for our sins. Once we understand that He loves us THAT MUCH, we can start to get to truly know Him.
Faith is the catalyst for a genuine connection with God, and Jesus is the key to Faith and Salvation. If you desire to believe and know more about the sacrifice of Jesus, God is eagerly waiting for you!
Below I have attached a Salvation Prayer from one of my favorite pastors, Billy Graham. Please read it carefully and feel the words as they apply to you. I pray that eventually if not now, all of these words ring true to you and that you live your new life with the assurance of Salvation and an authentic relationship with God.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
In Your Name.
